So, here I am less than 12 hours after our boy's delivery, and I had to pop on and give a super fast rundown of the details. Full birth story (With pictures!!) after I get home. I just don't have the energy to type it all up while I could be having a nap.
Andrew William was born after a slooooow loooooong labor and fast and furious delivery. Born at 11:59 on Feb 16th. We got him here on the 16th after all! He's 4lbs11oz and 17in. Thomas Russell was born stillborn, also at 11:59pm (they were attached at the cord, so they came together) and weighed in at only 12oz after passing in utero four weeks ago.
Andrew is down in NICU now, on the CPAP machine and a feeding tube, but otherwise doing great. He's got a head full of hair and is a trooper. I've already gone down a bajillion times to see him but its hard not to be able to hold your baby. But we feel good about his situation.
I am feeling great. It was such an easy delivery that I was up and walking around right after, and am waiting to hear about being discharged from my doctor. They like to keep you 24 hours... but really, I've been here long enough and I feel silly to take up a bed when I don't need it. Plus I want MY bed.
Again, I'll write a full story and post it when I get home. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts during this whole time. When the doctor saw the boys' cords, he said it was a miracle that Andrew survived. We're feeling pretty blessed and happy to have him safely here.
Love, Jae

I am glad to hear that Andrew is doing well and I am so sorry for your loss of Thomas. My heart aches for the trial you have endured, but you have done so with grace and bravery.
Your three children are so lucky to have you as a mother.
Congrats on little Andrew! Thanks for updating for us--when I know there's plenty of other things you want/need to be doing. Can't wait to see pics!

Oh Jae, YAY!! Congratulations, I cannot wait to see pictures!
Congrats! Sounds like you have your very own miracle!
I'm so happy to hear you are fine and Andrew is doing well. I hope your daughter is enjoying now being a big sister. My deepest sympathies on the loss of Thomas. It must be an overwhelming avalanche of feelings... joy and sadness all at once. *hugs* Take care.
Jae I am so glad to hear that you and Andrew are doing as well as you are. I am so sorry for the loss of Thomas. Losing a child must be extremely painful; it must be a conflicting time as you celebrate the birth of your other son. You chose beautiful names, and you pulled through all of this magnificently. I'm so glad you are counting your blessings in such a difficult situation. Enjoy your beautiful little son.
This post made me teary eyed. I know the term gets overused, but seriously, what a miracle baby. I hope you're able to feel peace during all of this. I can't wait to see little Andrew!
