The Difference...

two months and a whole lotta nursing makes.

Remember Andrew when he was first born? 4lbs and teensy tiny?
I look at this picture and cannot believe how tiny he was.

Well, here is the champ known as Andrew, 2 1/2 months later.
Can you believe the difference?? He looks positively skeletal in the first one. Of course, he wasn't supposed to be BORN yet. We took Andrew to his 2 month appointment ("we" meaning me and Addison, which is a feat in and of itself. She talks to EVERYONE. About EVERYTHING. The nurse got an earful about how Addison likes to watch Journey to the Centre of the Earth and Shawn and his daddy fall in a 'b'alcano, and she saw dinosaurs at the museum with Gigi. I just sit there with my mouth agape wondering when she'll stop. talking. Now I know how MY mom felt)

Anyways, his stats are amazing. Truly miraculous. He is 10 1/2 pounds, and 22 inches. Our doctor did a double take at the weight, since he figured with the stress Andrew was under, he should only be doubling his weight now and figured he would be at 8lbs. Doc told me that Andrew was officially the proper size for a normal, term baby. You would never know his circumstances if you looked at him. So I am happy. I can't believe our fortune with this child. For all of the trouble he (and his brother) gave me while I was pregnant, he's more than made up for it. He's a happy, sweet baby, who loves his mama and wants to be around people 24/7. I lucked out so far with babies. Addison was so easy because she just wanted to do everything herself starting at birth. Andrew is just so easy to please. Its so surreal to have a little boy. I was so wrapped up in Girl World with Addison for so long that I'm like oh my gosh, I have a son!

Anyway (why are all my posts scattered liberally with "anyway"s?), I snapped that picture today with my phone as I was sitting on my bed and baby talking, which is nauseating to anyone but Andrew. At the risk of sounding just a little too Stepford wife-ish, I kind of like life right about now.

So cute! What a blessing boy :) Boys are fun, aren't they? They have their own way of wrapping you around their fingers :)

Yay! What a cutie. I bet he'll pass up Owen in about a week, lol. We need some of that growth dust around here!

I'm crying as I read your blog. i just was diagnosed with acardiac twin (Trap Sequence, right?) and am headed to L.A. for my consult this weekend, and likely surgery. Unfortunately, we think they share a sack, but fortunately, they do have separate umbilical cords. I'm scared out of my mind, but you just gave me hope. Thanks for sharing your story! My sister-in-law somehow stumbled across your blog, and I'm so glad she did. Congrats on your son!
